BASHH, established in 2007
BASHH started out a few years ago as a group of Austinites who felt weird about only “meeting” online, so they met up for BBQ (the international symbol of brotherhood, right?) to meet offline. It started as a Tweetup and evolved into BATHH (Big Ass Twitter Happy Hour), but people who don’t use Twitter wanted in on the fun, so here we are with BASHH, also known as Big Ass Social Happy Hour!
BASHH is a really laid back networking event where we encourage people to relax and be social before handing out business cards or pimpin’ out elevator speeches.
Each event is hosted at a local venue to pump money back into the local economy and features a local photographer to capture the fun. The entire event is promoted online via social networks by our team, and the registration table is run by volunteers and sometimes even sponsors.
The BASHH Team
Benn is the CEO of digital business magazine, AGBeat, where Lani serves as the COO. Both are deeply passionate about connecting people with ideas for free, as they do at their award-winning publication every day, as well as their newly launched Spark of Genius Business Camp which brings locals together for meaningful discussions that turn down the hype, spark ideas, and send participants off with actionable solutions to ignite their business.
BASHH serves as the social side of the business, and is truly a labor of love and devotion to Austin.
